 Continuing
education is the foundation of a progressive, contemporary, state-of-the-art
dental office. Dr. Ahnquist started her career at Valparaiso University,
graduating with honors in biology and chemistry. After attending
graduate school at Northwestern University’s medical complex,
completing studies in medical microbiology. She returned to school
to attend The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, receiving
her DMD with honors including the Pierre Fauchard Academy
Award.
She has completed extensive training in endodontics (root
canals), orthodontics, dental materials and over 1000 hours of
hands-on training in cosmetic and rehabilitative dentistry at the
Louisiana
State University, the State University of Buffalo, the Hornbrook
Group at University of Louisville and Chicago and attended all
courses offered at Peter Dawson's prestigious Center for Advanced
Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Dr. Ahnquist is an avid skier and scuba diver, sharing these
interests with her son, Kyle. She loves Broadway plays
and high school marching bands, including BOA and shares these
interests with her other son, Karl. She also enjoys photography,
especially the thoroughbreds at Keeneland and the team photos
for the website. Besides dentistry, renovating homes
is her passion and hopes to continue this if she ever retires!
